Welcoming the Stranger
When we extend generous-hearted hospitality to others who are strangers, we are welcoming Jesus, the Holy Stranger, himself. Let’s welcome these stories into our homes and open hearts and minds.
The Holy Stranger—book for children
Revisit the story of our very own Lord and Savior, who was himself an immigrant and refugee. It's a perspective of the story that is rarely centered. If we teach this part of Jesus’s story to our children at a young age, we may be less inclined to avoid or be afraid of the conversation with one another. Our Savior’s story is a story about how we should welcome the stranger.
Life Undocumented, a new four-week course from the Center for Youth Ministry Training’s “Holy Disruptions” curriculum that follows the story of Adrian Zamora's journey of pain, justice, and ultimately hope.
Life Undocumented tackles the very polarizing and complex conversation surrounding immigration. Oftentimes when immigration is discussed, it is done in a way that leaves out the stories of the actual people who are immigrating. That is where Life Undocumented is different. Produced in partnership with the Undocumented Stories project the CYMT has combined their Holy Disruptions methodology with the actual story of Adrian, as told in his own words.
