As a guest of Austin Seminary, we want you to feel welcome. Seminary visitors are invited to stay on campus in our comfortable living environments, close to your event on campus. For rates and availability, please contact the hospitality desk (512-404-4800) at Austin Seminary.

Also in McCord, you will find Stotts Dining Hall where breakfast and lunch are available at very reasonable prices. Dining services are unavailable summer and winter break.





Guest Housing Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

If your stay is not included in the registration fee for an event which brings you to Austin seminary, the following prices apply based on the number of people in the room.

1 person - $75 per night
2 people - $95 per night

Will I be able to cook?

Smoot Center features a full kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, counter space and an oven/stovetop so that guests may choose to prepare their own food. McCord features a microwave and refrigerator but no conventional oven or stove top.

Are there nearby dining options?

Austin Texas is world famous for its award winning food. Our local specialties include Texas Barbeque(http://rubysbbq.com/) and Breakfast Tacos(http://www.austintacojoint.com/) both of which are available within walking distance of the seminary And don’t forget TexMex(http://www.trudys.com/trudys-central.php). You will want to try the Ramen at East Side Kings(http://eskaustin.com/hitw/) prepared by “Best chef Southwest” Chef Paul Qui and served for under $10 in a casual atmosphere, less than half a mile from our front door. And because we are only two blocks from “The Drag” (Guadalupe St.) and the University of Texas, a host of fast food options, bars, and surprises await you.

The Stotts dining hall is available to seminary guests and features a full menu for reasonable prices right here on campus.

Is public transportation available?

There is a public bus stop On 27th Street, just south of campus which serves the main route North and South through Austin. An airport bus connects Austin Bergstrom International Airport to the University of Texas, adjacent to our property (http://www.capmetro.org/airport/)

What about parking?

Free parking passes are available at the front desk in McCord to provide you with access to our ample on campus parking.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Two of the rooms in McCord are fully wheelchair accessible, as you make arrangements for your stay we will be happy to accommodate you in one of these rooms.

Are the bathrooms private?

Each room has in McCord its private bathroom, stocked with complimentary soap, shampoo/conditioner and hair dryer. Three of the bedrooms in the Smoot Center have shared bathrooms; two have private baths, as does Smoot Cottage.

Do I need to bring my own bedding?

All of our guest housing features “hotel style” accommodations and provide bedding.

Is there access to laundry facilities?

Both McCord Suites and the Smoot Center feature laundry rooms with a full washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board.

Can I access the internet?

Guest housing is covered by our campus wide WiFi, just ask the front desk for the password. McCord additionally features a business center with two workstations with access to a free printer.

Are there televisions in the rooms?
There are televisions in the common areas of both facilities, but only Smoot Cottage has a private television. 

Are the guest rooms Pet-Friendly?
Unfortunately, we do not allow pets in guest housing.

How do I make arrangements?

Room Reservations can be made as a part of your online registration for the program. If you would like to reserve housing, please contact the Hospitality and Guest Housing Coordinator at 512-404-4800 or mccord_desk@austinseminary.edu.
