Historic Church Eyes New Leader

After nearly two years without a senior pastor, the city's largest Presbyterian church is poised to give the job to a West Texas minister.
With a simple majority in Sunday's vote, the Rev. Trey Little, 44, will take the helm at First Presbyterian Church in August.
“I'm just excited to share the gospel with the people of San Antonio and really be a part of the community,” Little said. “I'm humbled by the opportunity.”
Little has been pastor at Matthews Memorial Presbyterian church in Albany, near Abilene, about eight years. During his tenure, average attendance at Sunday services has grown from about 25 to 150, and the church now has about 200 members.
While that is far fewer than the 1,000 or so at First Presbyterian on Sundays, Little's résumé includes work at megachurches in Austin and Houston, church leaders noted.
