Celebration of Black History Concert
Austin Seminary and the Center for Lifelong Learning are excited to host a Celebration of Black History Concert featuring The Levites! Join us in person or online for an event featuring poetry from Austin Seminary students, musical selections from local Austin group The Levites, and history snapshots that will inform, educate, and inspire as we reflect on and celebrate Black history.
For over a decade, The Levites have been making waves in the music industry both nationally and internationally. They've pushed the musical boundaries to the max by collaborating with many of today's mainstream artists. Their musical influences are many, but perhaps their style can best be described as a fusion of Jazz, Soul, Roots Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Hip Hop, R&B, and Zydeco. It sounds farfetched but experiencing them live will make you a believer.
They are truly a breath of fresh air into today's homogeneous industry. As such, they've appeared multiple times at The House of Blues, SXSW music festival, Austin City Limits, Trinity Broadcasting Network, The Word Network, T.D. Jakes' MegaFest Conference, and much more.
