The Promise and Perils of Bi-Vocational Ministry Among Latinx Communities
 Las realidades del ministerio bi-vocacional entre pastores Latinas/os y lideres eclesiales presentan grandes oportunidades y desafíos. El enfoque principal del taller ministerial 2020 Cruzando la Frontera es proveer un marco teológico saludable y pautas bíblicas para ayudar a lideres eclesiales Latinas/os a florecer y evitar agotamiento ministerial. Las sesiones se enfocarán en las dinámicas de la vida, familia y ministerio experimentadas por ministras/os bi-vocacionales arraigados dentro de comunidades eclesiales Latinas. The realities of bi-vocational ministry among Latinx pastors and church leaders present great opportunities and challenges. The main focus of the 2020 Crossing the Border workshop is to provide a healthy theological framework and biblical guidelines that help Latinx church leaders to flourish and avoid ministry burnout. The sessions will focus on life, family and ministry dynamics experienced by bi-vocational ministers rooted within Latinx church communities. Presentadores/Presenters: Rev. Dr. Sammy Alfaro es profesor y editor general de la Facultad de Teología de la Universidad Grand Canyon. El es originario de Phoenix, Arizona y de descendencia latina. El tiene un master en estudios bíblicos y teológicos y un postgrado en Teología del Seminario Teológico de Fuller en Pasadena, California. El es un ministro ordenado y pastor de la Iglesia New Day en Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Sammy Alfaro is faculty and general editor for the College of Theology, Grand Canyon University. He is a Phoenix native of Latino descent. He holds an MA in biblical and theological studies and a PhD in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He is an ordained minister and pastor of New Day Church in Phoenix.
