Young leaders from the Texas Youth Academy will visit each summer for worship and a meal.

The Texas Youth Academy (TYA) is an advanced discipleship program for senior high United Methodist Youth that was initiated by the Texas Annual Conference in the summer of 2009. Patterned after the Duke Youth Academy program, TYA is a two-week summer experience that currently is held at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

TYA is intended for youth in any of the United Methodist Conferences of Texas who show promise for clergy and lay leadership in the Church. High school sophomores and juniors are accepted through an application process.

Youth at the TYA will participate in an intensive encounter with Christian life that will leave you confident that God is shaping your future in radical and exciting ways, make life-long friends, learn and play.

The youth also will learn about the Christian faith with seminary faculty from all around the country, practice your faith with other youth from across the state and be challenged in new ways to follow Jesus together on this journey of Christian living.
