Paul Hooker is Associate Dean for Ministerial Formation and Advanced Studies. He joined the administration of Austin Seminary in August 2012 and directs the Doctor of Ministry and Supervised Practice of Ministry programs. He also administers the Certificate in Ministry program.
Dr. Hooker is the author of 1 and 2 Chronicles, a commentary in the Westminster Bible Companion Series from Westminster John Knox Press. He is co-author with John Hayes of A New Chronology of the Kings of Israeland Judah and Its Implications for Biblical History and Literature (Wipf and Stock, 2007). He has also written several reviews and articles for journals and other publications in the field of biblical studies.
Dr. Hooker is an ordained teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Prior to coming to Austin Seminary, Dr. Hooker was executive presbyter and stated clerk in the Presbytery of St. Augustine (Jacksonville, Florida) for thirteen years. He served as a pastor in three congregations in Tennessee and Georgia before going to the presbytery.
