"Metaphor, Meaning, and Making Belief: Thinking Poetically about Faith"

In preparation for Holy Week

An essential skill in reading and writing poetry is the ability to think in metaphor: to see through one reality in a way that transforms one’s view of another. This webinar will explore poems about the Passion story, looking at how the poet uses metaphor to illumine the story of Christ’s suffering and death, and how that story itself becomes a meaning-making metaphor for our own lives of faith.

Audience: For clergy, liturgists, and church leaders preparing to lead worship and for all interested in entering into Holy Week in a deeper way.

Presenter: The Reverend Dr. Paul Hooker

Date: February 28, 2018

Time: 11:00 a.m. - Noon (CENTRAL TIME)

Location: Online; space is limited and only available for 25 participants
