"You Want Me to Teach What??"

Churches have a unique opportunity to serve and educate people with disabilities. However, most congregations lack the structure and strategy to truly welcome that community. As nearly 1 in 5 Americans have a disability, we need to equip Sunday School teachers, VBS directors, and all staff/lay leaders on how to best include and preemptively welcome folks with disabilities into our classrooms. Topher Endress, a PhD Fellow in the Centre for Spirituality, Health and Disability at the University of Aberdeen, will walk us through practical inclusion tips and a theological framework better suited to the true needs of our communities.

Audience: Christian educators, ministers, lay leaders, and anyone interested in widening the bounds of who can be welcomed in the church.
