MDiv / MSSW Dual Degree
If you have a deep passion for non-traditional ministries, including agency-based social service, social justice advocacy, policy-oriented ministries, and clinical counseling, this program is designed for you.
The Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Austin Seminary, combined with the Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work, is a response to the growing demand for social workers to be sensitive toward and proficient in their understanding of their clients’ religious and spiritual lives. The goal of the program is to equip you with the skills and knowledge to think theologically and serve creatively so you may alleviate critical social problems within faith-based communities, social services agencies, and in clinical counseling positions.
Students in the dual-degree program will receive two degrees, one from each institution. As much as possible, the program of study will be tailored to meet students’ individual vocational interests and needs.
