Master of Arts in Ministry Practice (MAMP)

Whether you are considering a lay leadership ministry within the church, involvement in a service organization, or you are already serving in ordained ministry in your tradition, this two-year degree will equip you for Christian leadership through a combination of classroom study and practical experience. You will focus on effective communication skills, proficiency in the pastoral arts, and growth in spiritual maturity.


Bachelor's degree from an accredited college of university; provide an official transcript

Three essays:

  • Autobiographic essay reflecting on your spiritual journey and/or call to ministry
  • Analytical essay on a specific topic of theological interest or concern
  • A brief essay identifying your area of academic interest and how this study will inform your life and work

  • Introduction to Old Testament
  • Introduction to New Testament
  • Introduction to the History of Christianity: Apostolic Erat to 1650
  • Theology: Doctrines and Themes
  • Introduction to Christian Ethics (or Biomedical Ethics, Environmental Ethics, or Moral Issues)
  • 3 courses, 1 each from 3 departmental areas: Christian Education, Leadership & Administration, Mission & Evangelism, Pastoral Care, Preaching, Worship & Music
