About Allan Boesak

Allan Boesak is co-founder of the United Democratic Front (UDF), an umbrella organization that became the leading anti-apartheid organization in South Africa. He is also a former Chairman of the African National Congress in the Western Cape. Boesak first received international attention in August of 1982, when the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) met in Canada, where he introduced a motion requesting that WARC declare apartheid a heresy contrary to both the Gospel and the Reformed tradition.
