He served in the Army of Tennessee (1864), resided in Pinson Station (1866) and Humboldt, Tennessee (1867-1868), and became a teacher in Lewisville, South Carolina (1869). He moved to Texas in 1871 and served as stated supply in Lavernia. There is no record of his whereabouts from 1872-1876. He served as a domestic missionary in Grapeland, Texas from 1877-1878 and died either in 1878 or 1879.

Scope and Contents: The Robert McCoy letters consist of three typed letters written to McCoy’s cousin, Alexander English, who resided in Talladega County, Alabama (1838-1846). The letters primarily discuss familial issues, but also contain information on McCoy’s congregations. It is unclear who transcribed the letters.
